My son was so excited to get this and after going through everything we couldn't assemble the dinosaur because the neck bone was broken! Very disappointed and I don't even know if I want another one because he was so upset. I don't even want to risk going back and getting a new one. Otherwise, it would be fun to smash and penetrate slime, mud, etc.

I ordered a Tyrannosaurus Egg, but received a Brontosaurus. Very unhappy when my son opened it for his 5th birthday. Everything revolved around a T-Rex (except for a few gifts), and I got a Brontosaurus. Don't make the mistake I made in trusting the choices they give you. Look at the color of the bone sticking out of the egg and you'll know what kind of dinosaur you want. The selection bar is incorrect. Funny until we realized there wasn't enough detail in the end to complete the dinosaur skeleton. My 5 year old enjoyed all the fun and messy tasks of collecting dinosaur parts but ended up being disappointed that Santa's elves messed up so much and forgot an important part. I bought a pair for my grandson. We had a great time digging up bones and had fun finding other bones. (I recommend this on brown mailing paper for easy cleaning). Then assemble the skeleton. It was a wonderful quality experience. He taught me so much about what each dinosaur does. We kept the little eggs to open each day to see what wonderful surprises were inside. Great way to reward great behavior or I love you and can't wait to see what's inside this egg!

This egg was definitely a lot of fun, my 6 year old son loved it. You follow a little treasure map and it tells you what to do to discover more dinosaur bones. It's not too messy and the dinosaur you make is actually a pretty decent size and comes with little mini dinosaurs.
