Great French Press for 1-2 people.

I have been using this French Press daily for a few weeks. I usually make 2 cups at a time and use ground cursley coffee. It worked great. There are a few small coffee particles that go through the filter, but I avoid them without taking the last sip. Very light and I've taken it on a trip but not on a hike yet.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Weight

The strainer has a non-removable silicone part instead of a spring

I was very happy to find such a compact and light coffee press; Unfortunately, instead of the typical metal spring, it has a silicone part, which I didn't realize until I received the product (you can see it in the photos provided by Revain). It is fused to the metal base of the press so it cannot be removed.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • High price

good but the filter sucks

Excellent french press but the design of the filter is not very good. A few modifications could make this much better as the grind has to be very coarse or it will bleed through and around the edges of the filter. A little more research and development on the part of the company to install the best stainless steel mesh filter without the plastic filter would be much better.

Cool and well done but not perfect.

Good design, makes coffee. Fits in a 550ml mug. Anyone who complains about ground coffee has forgotten they're on a camping trip. Difficult to clean on the go. Basically you have leftover coffee on the strainer until you get back home. There are much more compact ways to make coffee. Allow time before shipping as it spent a week in customs when shipped from Japan.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • The list will be long.

I really wanted it to work

Tried to use three times. The lid was ripped off twice and coffee grounds were strewn all over the table and anything that was visible. I just gave up the coffee and opened Mt Dew as I got tired of using it. I have other Snow Peak products that have been solid, but I suspect something has gone wrong with the moving parts. Wouldn't recommend this product to anyone as it leaves you confused and without hot coffee.

Unique product with good value for money

I've been using this French Press for over a month now and absolutely love it. It's small, light, and feels solid enough to withstand bumps and dents despite being made of single-wall titanium. I removed the paper/mesh screen from a regular metal screen and it seems to work just as well. I've read other reviews that said the extra silky screen lets the bases through for some reason. So far I've had almost no reason to go through the filter. I mean it's a French press so it's inevitable but this

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • So-so
