Perfect replacement

I bought a pair of lamps and one of them has a broken lamp socket. The return period has expired, so I had to do the repair myself. Ceramic substitutes were not available at local hardware stores. Of course I found it here on Revain. It was an identical replacement and took less than 5 minutes to repair and install the light. Couldn't ask for more.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Good heat resistant sockets

Installed ceramic sockets in two ceiling fans to replace weak, broken plastic sockets that were no longer in contact with the bulb. The plastic sockets had a thin strip of brass for contacting, while the newer ceramic sockets have a metal shell that the bulb screws into. To install, I drilled out an old outlet bracket and used a short 1/8" pipe and some 1/8" x27 nuts to install and wire the outlets. Now it's better than new with no problems with loose contacts or overheating.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires socket

Definitely an update on cheap plastic sockets! Would buy again!

I had a fairly expensive handmade metal lamp with 8 candlesticks. Unfortunately, the great craftsmanship has been overshadowed by the choice of cheap plastic sockets used in many candelabra fixtures today. The cheap plastic either cracked or the thin piece of metal used for electrical contact broke off leaving no contact and I was left with only two usable outlets. Anyone who came up with the "smart" idea of skimping on metal and using that crappy plastic should file a class-action lawsuit for…

Pros
  • Overall performance is excellent
Cons
  • I have some doubts
