Tricked the lighting socket

Cheap and effective replacement for a broken 3-way dimmer. The outer case is finished in antique brass, which didn't match my original controls (which I was aware of). But I found that the actual installation of the switch fits perfectly into the existing outer shell. Fast repair in 15 minutes! Excellent work.

Color matches old lamps

Basically these replacement lampholders are the same as all the others. But it's not the glow-in-the-dark, shiny faux brass color that's commonly available. Brilliant yellows stand out like a sore thumb, especially on an old lamp. We have antique stalls as well as refurbishment and refurbishment of fine old lamps. From now on we plan to stock these replacement sockets as they look so much better.

Works but they are darker than the bronze color.

Update: I noticed the fine print: : Color: Antique Bronze. However, photos of the item can be found everywhere. The seller offered to return the entire purchase price which was a nice gesture. I installed one of these and it worked fine. However, they are advertised as light gold, but they are much darker than the bronze color. If you can use your old cover just ignore the new covers but what they advertise doesn't match their finish. See fig.
