The product does exactly what it is supposed to do. The on/off function is not mentioned in the instructions. However, one person's review mentioned that toggling the hold button to the hold position would turn off the device. So far there have been no complaints about this product.

This is an exquisite model with a history of several years. Several desktop improvements have made this model my favorite and I have 3 models of this basic design. As old devices age, I will replace them with this particular model, no doubt about it! I also have 2 other brands and they just don't match the Sony design.

This tiny voice recorder offers excellent voice quality and is easy to use. In order for the batteries to last as long as you want, it is important to put the device in hold mode when not in use. There is no real switch. The record button is concave, making it easy to find "blind" e.g. B. while driving or in the dark when I sleep which is the main time I use them.

The documentation says there is no on/off. But there is. The switch on the side that says "Hold" does it. Also, if you follow the instructions to delete a message, the message will play 10 times before being deleted. (I don't understand why anyone would want THIS to happen.) But if you just hit the delete button twice in a row while a message is playing, the message will be deleted immediately. This procedure is not documented in the instructions.
