It's just a great bag and camera

Dude, follow the instructions. I've done over 35 dives with this case and no leaks. Just make sure you lube the o-ring and it's free of dirt, dust or hair and inspect as per the manual and you're good to go. A great camera that you don't feel comfortable with because it's light.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Dear

Good for what it does

Everyone else sums it up well - if you need a waterproof camera for everyday use, this will do the trick. Be careful though - with the camera inside, this device will sink like a rock. If you're clumsy like me, you should make a float for this. I took a small empty soda bottle, capped it tightly and tied it to the body with rope. If it accidentally falls into the water, it will float and the soda bottle will be visible. Otherwise my camera would be lying at the bottom of a river in Jamaica.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Safety

Poor customer support

The underwater box we received was not as advertised. Didn't fit our camera. When we tried to put the camera in the case, they bent the lens cap. The next day we emailed the seller to let him know the situation and he did not correspond with us despite several attempts by us and Revain to resolve the issue. Currently we seem to be stuck with a rather expensive underwater camera bag that we cannot use. The case was advertised as new but was unboxed and had no instructions. New? Very suspicious.

  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Waiting too long

It's a man, not a machine

Just to address another reviewer's negative experience with this product. I have used the Marine Pack on several dives and it has worked well. It didn't flood and I didn't even get moisture in the hull. Sony recommends testing the case at a depth of 30 cm for 10 seconds, then for a few minutes; I did this systematically before every dive IN THE SHELL and not in open water. Blaming Sony for a flooded camera body is unfair, accusing them of taking legal precautions is just ------. A responsible…

  • Unbelievable price

Marine Backpack, My Leg

I've been shooting underwater with ease for almost 10 years, so I know the precautions to take when using marine backpacks. Water got into the housing the second time it was used and the camera was damaged. I complained to Sony about this and all I got was a cold reception and a lame explanation that the shipping instructions said that in the unlikely event of a malfunction, Sony is not responsible for the camera, battery etc. Of course it was in the manual, so there was no recourse on my part.

Pros
  • Niche Best
Cons
  • Tradable
