Sony RDR-VX535 DVD Recorder & VCR Combo Player: 1080p HDMI Upscaling and Bonus Cable Included Review

I am very disappointed with this unit. I bought it to convert my old VHS tapes to DVD but it doesn't work. He claims they are all copy protected. I'm currently considering other options.

Very disappointed with this purchase. Not impressed with the 'outdated' condition. The device was not clean, the remote control does not work and there are no instructions. I took a chance but wasn't happy that it was a $300 flop.

Runs like new. Came with the remote control you really need. The player/recorder was supposed to come with an HDMI cable, but it didn't. The HDMI cable was not included otherwise it would have given 5 stars.

I bought the same model in the early 90's but it was damaged on other units but this model was still the best and luckily you didn't have the manual and I was able to get the manual from PK Richards got, the i sold the item so i'm glad i got a new one in good condition and thanks

I bought this DVD recorder/player last year and found it very easy to use. You simply insert a blank DVD, put the recording on hold and press the RECORD button. I have used it to transfer the videos I recorded on VHS tape and 12" Laserdisc format to DVD for archival purposes. I also use it to archive videos I have stored on my cable TV DVR. The number of recordings is very high. My only complaint is the "Copyright Protection" which worked unexpectedly and blocked my recording of an old VHS…
