It has good resolution but is not suitable for medium length (or shorter) lenses. It only fits my 500m lens, I was hoping to use it for others.

Works as it should with the Minolta 200mm APO. There's no noticeable drop in IQ unless you're pixel watching, and even then it's pretty much negligible.

I originally bought this to be able to do a little more with my Sony G 70-200mm (best lens I've had was u he tack wide open) mainly for sports and air shows. The photos were too soft for my taste. I got the best cropping results in post-processing.

If you have a Sony G 70-200mm lens then this is a natural fit and the lens cannot do without it. It works perfectly, including autofocus, with a Sony Alpha 100 (and I believe A 700) Sony SAL-14TC 1.4x teleconverter lens for a Sony Alpha DSLR.

I use this TC with Minolta 400/4.5 HS APO in combination with Sony A77ii and a99 bodies. To be honest I don't see any deterioration in image sharpness and the autofocus functionality is retained when used with this lens. It's expensive, but worth paying for the image quality unless you're lucky enough to find a good used Minolta 1.4x APO II TC (which is essentially the same design and build, but heavy can be found).

I am an amateur photographer who shoots high school sports for our local high school. I wanted a fixed aperture lens but found it limited my distance. I bought it hoping to get some of that distance back. There is no sacrifice in quality when using this lens. You really need an f2.8 lens, and you also need to be aware that it adds an aperture, so the best you can do with this teleconverter is f4. Still really worth it in my opinion.
