The VCR door was stuck and the cassettes were difficult to remove from the unit I revived it so I returned it. The rest of the device worked perfectly.

I purchased this item on 08/09/2019 from a third party Revain. It looked good, but most of all it was what I needed. A DVD/VHS/Video combo player with remote control, which is why it was advertised. It finally arrived, looked very good, checked the box and all the packaging, no remote control. We connected it, put the DVD in, everything works, checked, the VHS tape doesn't play. Very disappointed.

I bought this DVD player to replace a Panasonic DVD player and found an amazing difference. The remote control is designed to play the DVD without thought or reason. Fumbling around and searching for the right knob is always a must. DVD slow motion is terrible. I'm using the HDMI output, but the video quality isn't as good as the standard Panasonic video output. Overall, I can see that Sony has put no effort into making this product.

I didn't really do much homework before purchasing this item but I had a new HD TV and needed a new HD DVD. It was so easy to make friends. We just used the cable that came with it and the films came out perfectly. Be sure to read the manual and experiment with the Cinema settings (recommended). You can leave it on default but some movies will look a little better with cinema etc. Video recording is good too. You can still watch DVD while burning VHS, just like two separate components.
