To be honest I never got it to work except on two channels and they had around 500ms latency.

I had only heavy interference and noise on most but two channels. Also, there was a strong latency on these two, around 500ms, so it was an echo of what was coming out of the speakers, making it hard to hear. . But when I turned off the speakers, I couldn't hear any sound on any channel other than those two. And I didn't get anything when my source was Netflix. Speaker.

Sounds great for the price!

Sounds great and is a good and very inexpensive way to hear 5.1 TV sound on my existing Pro Tools system and studio monitoring. I typically need to add 6-8dB of gain to the signal coming out of the decoder, but that's easy to do in Pro Tools. The only real downside is that the device lags a frame or two...not a deal breaker for $45. Perhaps the delay is actually more specific to the optical output of the Vizio TV I'm using. Not perfect, but better than the competition

This review compares Ambery/AllAboutAdapter's AU-DA100 5.1ch Decoder to Southsky 5.1ch Decoder.
