Someone wrote a review for this product that the pencil does not charge. Someone else wrote that it is, so I took a chance and bought it. It turned out that the first assessment was correct. Apple Pencil 2 will not charge. I've tried pasting it multiple times and it just doesn't work.

Overall, I really like the case. After opening the plastic seal, a small powdery coating remained on the case, but this was easily wiped off with a damp paper towel. This case is great value. It seems very protective and works well for folding and holding a pencil. Despite what has been written, it definitely charges the pencil. It might not always be obvious that it loads, but it does. I don't know how people charge their Apple Pencil, there must be some magic because I couldn't get it to charge at all, the stuff between the iPad and the Apple Pencil is not well designed to charge the Apple Pencil, so in most cases this part is removed or made very thin.

Does the Apple Pencil charge? Yes! NO! Back and forth people act like it's a clear problem when it's actually a gray area. Sometimes it is, sometimes not. Some are lucky, some aren't. I love this case for my 12.9 inch iPad Pro 5th Gen. It fits perfectly and protects my device without bulking it up. It goes perfectly with my tempered glass. and a screen protector. The only complaint about this case is the functionality of the Apple Pencil. It doesn't charge 65% of the time I plug it in. This is a major disadvantage of this case and if you don't have the patience for this type of issue I would recommend finding another case.

The case fits perfectly and feels good in the hand. It's not bulky but seems sturdy enough for the protection I'm looking for (mainly for protection in a pocket; I'm usually very careful with my devices). I had no trouble charging my Apple Pencil. I just wish it was cheaper and had more viewing angles (the last caveat I was aware of).

Spigen is my favorite case brand so I didn't hesitate to buy another case from them for my new iPad Pro.
