Not very thick for winter, but about 3 times thicker than regular thin cotton leggings. They look and fit like regular leggings. They are soft on the outside but not soft on the inside. I'm not sure what you mean by "fleece". My daughter wears a size 7 and the medium one is a bit long for her but fits everywhere. Even though they are not that soft, my daughter still likes them a lot and she is very picky.

I bought these for my daughter because I wanted her to have comfortable fleece leggings for the winter. I bought these expecting they would be similar to the fleece leggings that Carters and Osh Kosh sell. Be careful, it's not like that at all. They are definitely thicker than regular leggings and perfect for fall or early spring. But definitely not for the winter. I'm keeping them because my daughter says she wants to wear them but has to buy the more expensive Osh-Kosh for the winter.

Are they thicker than regular leggings? Yes. Are they fleece lined? Definitely not! I have purchased about 10 products from Spotted Zebra and was very impressed with the quality until these leggings arrived. The inner "fleece" lining is more like a very scratchy low quality bath towel. My daughter is very touch sensitive and will most likely not wear these unless they soften with washing.
