Description of 🧱 Squared-Cut Mortised Recess Mortises

SQUARE UP YOUR INSIDE CORNERS: Use this corner chisel to quickly, easily and accurately chisel out the corners of your mortised hinge recesses. Perfect for when your router creates the perfect mortise but leaves a “rounded” corner behind. MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS: Designed to be used to create square corners on router hinge recesses, door lock recesses, wood flooring stock, picture frames and many other applications where a 90 degree corner is needed. SIZE MEANS EVERYTHING: 3/8” width of each side of the chisel from the edge to the corner makes it the perfect size to cut corners with ease. CUTTING CORNERS IS A GOOD THING: Spring-loaded chisel is sharpened and ready to use right out of the package; Cutter aligns with both edges to produce a perfect 90-degree corner; Simply place in any recess or corner, tap with a hammer (not included), and remove any cutout waste so you are left with a clean, square (90-degree) inside corner. HIGH QUALITY: Constructed with a high-speed steel (HSS) anvil and anodized aluminum body for maximum strength and longevity that resists rust and corrosion. The anvil is tipped with a razor sharp blade that makes quick work of most any type of hard or soft wood.

Save Time: Power & Hand Tools

This tool helped align the inside corner of the half lap joints on sidewalk signs we made for the tasting room at our son's brewery. This made the signs look professional.

Pros
  • HIGH QUALITY: High-speed steel (HSS) anvil and anodized aluminum body for maximum strength and durability, and resistance to rust and corrosion. The anvil has a razor-sharp blade that allows you to quickly work on any type of hard or soft wood.
Cons
  • Expensive

Does what it was designed to do.

Excellent product. Does what it's designed to do in a small package. The weight is easy to hold. It should be possible to cut some corners before sharpening is required.

Pros
  • CUTTING CORNERS IS GOOD: Spring-loaded chisel sharpened and ready to use; The cutter is aligned on both edges to get the perfect 90 degree angle; Simply place in any recess or corner, tap with a hammer (not included) and remove any trimmings so you have a clean square (90 degree) inside corner.
Cons
  • Will be added later

Normal for the price of a power tool and a hand tool

Once again you got what you paid for. The chisel is of poor quality, so I had to disassemble and regrind it before using it (see picture). After that it works perfectly and makes nice corners.

Pros
  • MAKE YOUR INSIDE CORNERS: Use this corner chisel to quickly, easily and accurately hollow out the corners of mortise hinges. Ideal for cases where your router creates a perfect groove but leaves a "rounded" corner.
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Good for the price in Wood Chisels

Again, you get what you pay for. The chisel is not very well made so I had to disassemble and re-sharpen it before using it (see picture), after that it works great and makes nice angles.

Pros
  • Power and Hand Tools
Cons
  • Big and Bulky

Worked great with chisels

I lost a chisel I had for about 20 years and have been looking everywhere for a new one. I couldn't find any, most people haven't even heard of them. I went to Revain to find him and was glad he finally arrived. It has proved great to install hinges on the door of the house I am renovating.

Pros
  • Chisel
Cons
  • Some little things

Decent but not perfect

Use this for fine carpentry work, lost carrier cables and have you tried this cheaper option. It's very sharp and strong, but the milling on the block doesn't match 1/64, so I have to hand grind an edge. If you're installing a lot of equipment, it's worth buying a more expensive porter cable, or maybe relocating that cable to make it perfect. does the job

Pros
  • Hand tool
Cons
  • Expensive
