1% Salicylic Acid does a great job. I have acne prone skin. The best skin cleanser is baking soda. In fact, baking soda remains the best cleanser ever for any skin type. However, this is not enough for acne. This St. Ives product is the right combination to use with a cleanser. Cleanse skin with soda in the morning and St. Ives in the evening. I always have St Ives for facial scrubs. I usually use a pink tangerine and lemon scrub, but I recently had stress acne and decided to try the purifying green tea scrub.
