1% Salicylic Acid does a great job. I have acne prone skin. The best skin cleanser is baking soda. In fact, baking soda remains the best cleanser ever for any skin type. However, this is not enough for acne. This St. Ives product is the right combination to use with a cleanser. Cleanse skin with soda in the morning and St. Ives in the evening. If that's not enough, you can go to St. Ives, which contains 2% salicylic acid (slightly stronger). Leave on for 1-3 minutes while brushing your teeth or combing your hair. Then wash off and do not apply anything else to the skin. Salicylic acid tends to dry out skin a little over time, so be careful how much you apply. Make sure you have organic coconut or another natural moisturizer with you to apply from time to time when dryness hits. Complementary acne meditations like Differin can also be used directly for inflammation. I hope this helps you!
