🔧 Efficient Canister Purge Valve by Standard Motor Products CP514 - Assorted Sizes for Optimal Performance Review

I've been chasing the dreaded code p1457 on my 2002 Civic for months. Hope this fixes it. This is an exact OEM Denso W0133-1979106 part from a Honda dealer but at half the price. I previously did a charcoal 2-way valve in the vaporizer tank and also replaced the charcoal canister a few months ago and nobody has fixed the code.

I installed this part to try and reset an emissions code that I've been tracking for a while. The car is old and has been driven a lot of miles so a lot of the standard parts are just rusted and look in poor condition so I bought it to try to clear the code but I'm not sad to replace the existing one Part. The fit is perfect and it's good to know that now there won't be a problem in the future :)

Code P1456 installed and cleared on a 2001 Civic LX. It worked less than a month and started ticking very clearly, even louder than the original part I replaced. The code came back a week and a half after it started ticking. Ordered Denso part from dealer part number 36162-PLC-003 Valve, Purge Control Solenoid at $43.30 per hour.

I ordered this solenoid for my Honda but after placing the order I found that there were more problems than the solenoid which resulted in a repair that took the next few months. When I finally got ready to install the solenoid, I found that the vacuum port cover was missing, rendering the part unusable. The allowed return time has expired and I'm stuck to buy another solenoid. Thing is, although I didn't inspect the part when I received it, quality control allowed it to leave the factory.
