Replaces a defective sensor. This sensor sometimes gives a bad knock sensor code; However, this will correct itself in a day or two. We'll see how long that lasts.

After 6 months it failed and I had to spend an additional $400 on genuine Toyota parts to get my 2001 Highlander working properly.

I've tried some of the really cheap aftermarket knock sensors and have had great luck. The default always worked for me the first time. Worth the money so I don't have to do the job twice.

At 150k the 2002 RX300 family knock sensor knocked out. We decided to buy all the parts to replace both sensors (under the intake manifold) and have a trusted mechanic do the job. After great results with the standard coils on the ES300, I chose these sensors for the Lexus. The quality seems to be OEM level. You know from the box these are high performance parts. In addition, the price was right. Highly recommended.
