This is a blanket. Smelly Blanket

This is a blanket. So it'll keep you warm in an emergency if you get stuck in the car, and it's quite heavy. But the smell... like death was sewn into every fiber lol. If you can find the best blanket in person in store, get it, if like me you can't find any of these blankets for sale in store, you may have to order them.

Exactly what I was looking for

Nice dark heavy weight blanket that won't bother you if your dog ruins it. I keep mine handy for truck bed flooring and emergency blankets, but I might as well leave them in the living room. At this price, you can safely ignore any complaints from others. Will it smell a bit like the plastic it came in? Maybe until it gets wet for the first time. I plan to buy another pair for camping and cabin use.

Fantastic wool blanket

Windproof, durable, heavy and very warm blanket. They weigh about 4 pounds each and are very dense. They are a mix of nylon and wool, so they need to be cleaned thoroughly. Also, they have a weird petrochemical smell when unpacked. The smell dissipates spontaneously, but is annoying. If you plan to use this blanket to make something like a shirt then this is a good choice as the edges will not fray. All in all, these are just great duvets.

Pros
  • Can be used alone or over a sleeping bag when the temperature really drops
Cons
  • Damaged

I was warm and comfortable all night.

Very happy with my wool blanket! It had a slight odor but it's not like some of the other reviews. I just sprayed Febreze on both sides and put it in the dryer on low heat for 30 minutes. I found a lot of wool in the lint filter but the duvet didn't look worn at all. I bought this blanket for camping but on some cold nights I put it on my bed and turned off the heat in the bedroom to see how well it would keep me warm. I was warm and cozy all night. For the money, I would highly recommend this…

SAVE YOUR MONEY good for comforters and bedspreads

I ordered this because I couldn't find any military surplus gray wool blankets formerly made by the US Navy. I wish I hadn't! Unless you want something more than something in your trunk to keep you from freezing when your car hits a snowdrift off-road, stay away from this piece of junk. Looks like someone cut it out with a dull utility knife. The workmanship is lame - edge seams (only top and bottom) are missing in some places. It smells like it was used to soak up kerosene. Neither airing nor…

High-end blanket

The colors of this blanket don't match. They look "chunkier" which was the first indication that this wasn't going to last. I aired the duvet outside for 3 hours, washed it alone in the washing machine on the cold/gentle cycle and then dried it with almost no heat. Contrary to the reviews, the blanket did not smell much after drying. However, it completely filled my lint filter. Last time it happened with a full load of brand new towels. What didn't happen with these new towels was that my…
