Can be a good blade for soft plastics but loses teeth on mild steel

Used this blade for 5 minutes on mild steel and it lost a few teeth - you can see in the photo the print didn't even rub off - $30 down the drain - the port cargo blade lasted about 10 times longer

Pros
  • Bi-metal blade for cutting mild steel; Aluminum; Stainless steel; carbon steel; steel for tools, dies and forms; Steel with hardness up to C45 according to Rockwell; nickel base alloys; and non-ferrous metal
Cons
  • I'll add later

Do not know what to say.

Installed it in 2 minutes when it jumped the track and lost about 10cm of teeth. I took the old one off when it worked fine and put another one on after this Starrett and it worked fine. I guess I just got a bad one. Possibly uneven or unbalanced. Okay, $15 down the drain.

Pros
  • Neutral rake with heavy teeth for versatile cutting
Cons
  • I'll text back

Very sharp cut initially, initial edge loss quickly, overpriced

Excellent cut to start with mild steel, seems to have lost some of its original sharpness but still retains enough to operate at a reasonable feed rate at normal pressure to keep the part moving. The price isn't impressive, it's about double what I think it should be.

Pros
  • Suitable for cutting solid, structural and tubular shapes
Cons
  • Fine
