Displaying four systems on two 4K monitors

I used to have to use a pair of USB switches that came with two dual-head KVMs (one DP, the other mini-DP) and from connected from there were monitored. Now there's a lot less fiddling around. Worked right out of the box with no issues.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes

Meh KVM Switches for KVM Switches

So Pro'sThis has two DP ports, so have fun because they certainly work. I can't comment on the switching speed as it has never bothered me, but if it is necessary, know that it takes a second to switch between screens. It has 4 USB ports in total, that's 4, 4 USB ports common for computers and 2 of them are for mouse and keyboard. Attempts to connect an external USB hub (both powered and unpowered) ran into complications. With a USB hub, peripherals often stop responding randomly, so yes. stick

Reliable KVM with few features that are easy to use

I have tried several KVMs including some models with faster switching or more features but this one seems to be the most reliable. The most notable issue is that it takes a while to toggle, but I've just learned to be patient. And just to be clear, by "sometime" I mean 4 to 6 seconds. In comparison, other models I've had in the past can switch in a second or two. However, these other devices weren't as reliable until I finally had only one port left. So I think it's a great compromise. Another…

Probably the best choice available, but not ideal.

There seems to be some issues with 4K 60, but this is acceptable and cannot completely rule out other hardware issues with the devices. It's a DisplayPort switch, not HDMI. Also, NO cables are included, so order what you want.

Not bad at all in Computers & Accessories

I've had this KVM for 2 years now and have very few complaints. I have 4 computers connected to it (3 PCs running Windows 10, Linux Ubuntu 18.04) and a Mac. There are many things I like about this device and overall I have very few complaints. You'll need to plan on buying your own cables for this as they don't come with them and make sure you use good quality DisplayPort cables. I connected it to 2 Dell U2417H monitors and they are stable and not blurry. I found another reviewer who mentioned…

Recovery from hibernation is very unreliable

This KVM works better than others I've tried but still has major issues. When the OS puts the monitors to sleep after idle and you try to wake the monitors up, usually only one of the two comes back *but* the OS somehow still thinks the second monitor is running. Sometimes this can be solved by toggling back and forth. Not consistent. It is not clear if there is bad interaction between the specific monitors/GPUs/cables used and the KVM.
