This is a great little home networking stand with shelf. It's sturdy and big enough to hold a switch, router, patch panel, and the built-in shelf is great for items that can't be rack mounted.

Three mounting screws didn't fit and ended up falling off. Looks like the threads of the screw holes in the sheet metal are broken. I was able to complete the assembly with zip ties and enough screws to hold it together. I would like better product quality. Otherwise, this shelf is perfect for my main closet shelf.

The stand is quite strong. I think the instructions are confusing the places where you use the 2 different types of mounting screws that were provided. Also, the threaded holes appear to be covered in paint, making it difficult to install the 10-32 screws. If I were to do this again, I would put the tap in the holes first. I would also prefer the square inserts used in other StarTech racks to be used to mount the equipment.

When I received it, I was totally surprised at how heavy the package was. Don't worry about its thickness, it will be more than enough (unless you want to add a 4U 200lb UPS)! The quality and finish was too high and exceeded my expectations by a mile. I was amazed that what I assumed was made in China would be of such high quality and design when I saw it was made by these wonderful Canadians who explained the quality. Used in my basement for Unifi Rack Switch, Power Panel, Keystone Panel and Unifi USG, Cable Modem and Raspberry Pi (everything on the shelf). It works great and is very durable. The mounting holes fit 16" OC wall studs. I installed 1/2" washers between the stud and the wall and bought some longer 2-1/2" screws to make sure everything was secure. Spacers allow for it allows you to route cables from the ceiling behind the counter and through the rear opening into the keystone panel.

This is exactly the stand I needed. I replaced a 4U rack with no depth adjuster with this one so I could install a full depth switch and I'm very happy with it. A built-in shelf is a great way to increase rack rigidity and provide additional surface area for equipment without mounting brackets.
