I was surprised by the original quality of this cable considering its value for money. Often a cheap ethernet cable, say from a major chain store that rhymes with stabletart, comes out of the box by being wound on a spool with tight curls. This cable was in similar packaging but straightened it out right away. The padding is more pliable than I expected and the rubber is a little softer, but that doesn't make it feel flimsy.
