It screws right in, but makes a terrible noise and flexes so much I doubt how long it will last. (Bought for John Deere 212 [1979})

Works great so far. I had to order this one as the one I got from Revain a few years ago broke its permanent magnet this summer. I hope it's a different brand but for now it works like a charm.

Lasted 2 days no torque the motor hardly turns. I disassembled it and all 3 of the 4 magnets on the stator just lay inside the stator and didn't stick to the stator case. The rotor, in turn, loosened and erased the flywheel on the engine and the new starter gear.

I don't usually have problems with these aftermarket starters but this one had problems from the start. (no pun intended) I think the bracket was welded on, not aligned, resulting in it not engaging the flywheel teeth well. The other starter worked fine. I returned this one.

I give it 4 stars because it worked great after bolting it on, but I had to cut out the dremel mounting holes because when we welded on the mounting plate they didn't align the holes! FYI, but it's worth the $130 saving over the expensive ones.

I have bought several of these starters from other manufacturers and have never been impressed. This one turns the K341 around with ease. The only complaint I have is that I had to ream out the mounting holes a bit, the stock screws wouldn't go through them. But if it's a big deal, then you probably shouldn't own a lawnmower.

Did not fit. I had to grind the mounting plate to get the gears to turn on. Does. strange noises, such as B. teeth not meshing properly, I will order a different starter from a different supplier. falling apart. The gear bounced off and hit the ring gear, causing sparks. Garbage.

As another reviewer said, to use it on the Kohler K341 you need to enlarge the mounting holes to mount it. I also had to replace the drive gear on my old starter because the gear on the starter was too small to fully engage the flywheel. In short, if you need it for the K341 it will work as long as your old drive gear is in good condition. Expect some effort before you can use it.
