The thing works. I have potted recessed lights as well as track lighting. Getting the bulbs out of these two types of lighting worked. I would have preferred six feet instead of four but other than that this kit works great. The optically high-quality aluminum telescopic segments are folded along the grooves so that they cannot twist against each other. The brackets holding the extended segments are very strong. The end of the retractable pole has threads (about the size of a broomstick I think) while the bulb replacement suction cup that goes on it has thumbscrews to hold it to the pole, but they don't seem to harm each other

OMG how did I ever live without this! For years we've climbed stairs or kneeled on countertops to swap out our vanity lamps, but we've decided we no longer need to put ourselves at risk by doing so.
