The thing works. I have potted recessed lights as well as track lighting. Getting the bulbs out of these two types of lighting worked. I used to have to go down the stairs, up the stairs, take out the lightbulb and put the new lightbulb in the sunken can lanterns. For the track lighting I had to remove the entire fixture because I couldn't wrap my fingers around the bulb well enough when it was over my head to remove the bulb. With the lamp changer, I stood on the floor and pulled out the lamp changer. He clung to the halogen lamp and turned to take out the bulb. It worked. I then attached a new lightbulb to the suction, pulled the rod to the mount, rotated it, pulled the cord to loosen the suction, and voila, it's done. No more stairs!
