StayCoolPumps Impeller Kit: Replacement for Johnson 09-812B-1, Jabsco 13554-0001-P, Sierra 18-3306 Review

The impeller is slightly larger than the original Johnson impeller. Does not fit in my pump housing. Bought two of these before the season to have another one - unfortunately too late to return. Now I throw both in the trash.

This wheel is a perfect match for our Mastercraft Prostar 190 with Ford Indmar 351W. However, the white seal shown in the photo was not in the box. 2 black o-rings were in the box, in our application they are not used. I used an old white rubber gasket hoping it wouldn't leak.

Don't buy - it was noticeably louder than the Johnson brand and failed in just 44 hours last night, causing it to overheat. Spend more on OEM and save yourself the hassle. The photo shows the StaCoolPumps brand which has disbanded and 2 year old Johnson which I left as a spare.

The original impeller in my 2008 setter lasted 10 years with over 400 hours of use. It was in pristine condition when it was replaced for preventive maintenance. This Stay Cool pump replacement unit lasted less than a year and had a total motor run time of less than 4 hours. Do not buy! Left me in the middle of the lake. The impeller is completely broken.

The impeller was a direct replacement for the Johnson pump impeller in the 2006 Tige 21i (with Marine Power engine). However, after 11 months it completely disintegrated (I scrupulously replace the wheels after a year). I had an old impeller that I carry around as a spare so we didn't get stuck in the middle of Lake Mead. Unfortunately, the StayCoolPumps impeller has become a good example of the adage "you get what you pay for".
