Easily measure brake pads

I'm a novice when it comes to replacing brake pads. I'm pretty sure I've changed my pads far too soon over the years. This tool is awesome. I can measure the pad thickness without removing the wheel. Shine a flashlight through the spokes of the wheel. Make sure you actually measure your pads. It gives me peace of mind when it's time to replace my pads. Small complaint. The paint on this tool chipped easily, but that's no big deal.

Pros
  • COLOR IDENTIFICATION - Colored powder coated blades help you quickly identify brake pad condition when inspecting brake pads
Cons
  • Wrinkled

Allows for a quick check of the brake pads.

This is a quick way to check if you need new brake pads. Simply bring the end of each gauge to the pad until the gauge matches the thickness of the pad. That's all, no need to get micrometers and do the math. If the sensor is green, everything is fine. If it's yellow, it's time to consider an exchange. If red, it's time to install new pads. The sensors are designed for tough use, yet light enough to be operated with one hand. Pros: Color coding makes it easy to see when pads need to be…

Pros
  • STRONG STEEL. Durable 20-gauge steel blades won't bend or break like plastic blades.
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model.

Great tool when changing brake pads

20 Gauge The metal gives it a solid premium -Weight. The blades are firmly riveted together with a hexagonal screw. It looks like you can use an M5 Allen key to adjust how tight and how easily the blades slide between each other. Out of the box I find it tight enough to separate one of the blades while not allowing the others to move freely. The marking is legible. It may be sharper or a more contrasting color, but with this type of tool, the red, yellow, and green pretty much tell you what you

Pros
  • DISC AND DRUM BRAKES - Can be used with both disc and drum brake pads on any type of vehicle from cars and trucks to heavy duty vehicles
