📦 Translucent Lid Storage Box - Storex File Storage, Black (Model: 61504A01C) Review

I bought this to replace one I had for about 5 years when the latch broke. I am very disappointed with this replacement. It's badly done. The top cover of the safe only stays closed when empty. I taped it in place but the latch broke after 5 months. The early model lasted 5 years. This is 5 months old. (I didn't rate "Transparency" because I don't know what it could mean in the file folder)

I bought this box to keep my elderly mother's papers that I needed to take to meetings etc. , and now the latch is completely broken off. I have had several of these storage bags and none had this type of latch/handle. I wouldn't recommend this if you have to carry stuff in it every day. If you just want to store items and don't want to move around a lot, this will probably work. The only creative feature is that you can open the lid to store small items like paper clips, small stickers, pens…

This would be perfect for my needs if done better. Plastic is cheap and flexible. I had it for about 5 days and the latch fell off twice. The lid fell off once. They are not "broken" as I can put them back together with some effort. But having to rebuild the box every few days isn't exactly what I had in mind. It took me a lot of effort to give an item 1 star but this one nailed it. First, if you are in a hurry, don't rush. Delivery of this product 12 days. Now that it's here it's too late for me to send it back as anything is better than nothing for my upcoming appointments. Of course, this is just a step above the file folder and rubber band. However, you can purchase similar filing baskets at your local stores for a lower price. I prefer this one because: 1. Plastic doesn't crack2. the cover will not fall apart, detach from the base or break off3. When you close the lid, hanging files won't interfere with closing the lid4. The pen tray sits ABOVE hanging binders and doesn't prevent you from using that binder space (you can have both binders on the bottom and pen space on top). 5. The latch does not fail.
