Streamlight 61003 Rubber Strap Headlamp Review

The padded straps that come with most headlamps are designed for comfort and economy. Unfortunately, with constant use, they are not enough. Soon they stretch and the straps hang over the ears. These rubber bands are great! But be warned, proper fitting is crucial, they aren't as stretchy as the fabric style.

Fits snugly on my helmet and doesn't move. My last strap that came with my headlamp cracked and snapped after almost 2 years so this is my first replacement. If this one lasts that long then I think it's great because I work all year round in all weathers, from hot to cold. UPDATE: Lasted a little over 6 months before cracking and breaking. It doesn't seem to be very long. Maybe I'll try a different brand.

What can I say? My dog ate the strap on my favorite Nitecore. Now that I have this strap I love the headlamp even more. This seems to offer a better grip than the elastic fabric band. It smells a bit like imported rubber, but not critical. It's cheap, but cheap and light weight so it works great. I am about to order 2 more to "upgrade" my other headlights. It keeps the light on my head better than the original with the top strap. So it's cool.
