I received this flashlight today and am playing with it. So far the light is good. It's not as bright as I'd like, but I think the dimmer the light the longer the batteries last. I have 20 to 30 different LED flashlights and tend towards a brightness of "see a few hundred meters". That being said, I'm probably just getting used to my 500+ lumen flashlights. Decent light but not spectacular. Compared to the 4-AA version, this one has a MUCH narrower beam, it's a spot beam compared to its larger cousin's flood beam. It's a fairly bright spot, though, and somewhat unique for this type of flashlight. So if you need a spot beam, you might like this flashlight.
