Review on πŸ”¦ Streamlight 67101 2AA ProPolymer 65-Lumen HAZ-LO Intrinsically Safe, Waterproof, Alkaline Battery-Powered LED Flashlight – Yellow by Nathan Kalivas

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Decent light, pinpoint beam, much larger than the competition

Decent light but not spectacular. Compared to the 4-AA version, this one has a MUCH narrower beam, it's a spot beam compared to its larger cousin's flood beam. It's a fairly bright spot, though, and somewhat unique for this type of flashlight. So if you need a spot beam, you might like this flashlight. This flashlight is quite large compared to most other 2 AA flashlights. I would even call it awkward. The body diameter is significantly larger than that of the mini magazine, and the head is double or larger. It's also about 25% longer. I ended up finding the button very comfortable to use. This light is much easier to turn on with one hand than rotating lights. However, I think it's too easy. The button's border, which is supposed to protect it from accidental pressing, doesn't protrude far enough. Pressing the back of the flashlight against a flat surface illuminates the light (it does not turn on, when the pressure is released it turns itself off). I suspect this means it could easily turn on unintentionally in the glove box or toolbox, reducing the confidence I would give it. As with the 4 AA version, the batteries don't seat properly, making them rattle inside. . This should be an easy issue to fix so there's no excuse for that in my opinion, but the larger version of this light is worse so I think it's just not a detail that matters to Streamlight. Compared to other 2 AA flashlights I would put this one somewhere in the middle. It's too bulky and the small details seem well thought out, but not superbly executed. It's less bright than many others, including my Energizer 1-AA, which has become my favorite flashlight and costs 25% less than them (more on that in my other reviews). All in all I wouldn't buy this again unless I needed a plastic light or push button switch. Or if you need a small spot beam light, this could be a good choice for you.

Pros
  • Impact resistant engineering polymer construction
Cons
  • No automatic controls
