A must have if you want to make cool doll clothes and accessories

The patterns on the back are awesome I like how they indicate the level of difficulty before you start but if you do the projects in order there shouldn't be any problems give. The pictures and the simple terms they use make it easy to understand how to make dresses, bags, skirts, etc. for an 18 inch doll. If you or know a little girl who loves to play with dolls, this book is a must. You save a lot of money by making your own Alfits from things you already have at home, like a shirt or pair of

Great for Beginners

I bought this book to practice sewing patterns and to learn how to use a sewing machine. I've only been sewing for a few weeks so I'm just starting out, but this book has helped me learn a lot such as using a different fabric and more. I have an American Girl doll that has been in my closet since I thought I was too old to play with dolls, but I like to make little pants and shirts to dress her up in. The charts are easy to use and the instructions are easy to follow.

patterns are easy to use and instructions are easy to understand for beginners. I would prefer methods that look more "finished" but I'm sure they make the process easier for younger seamstresses so I can ignore it. So far I've only made two different tops and a mini skirt. The real problem I have is that NOTHING I made from this book fits my Pleasant Company American Girl doll. Even after adding 1/4 inch to the center pieces of the back pattern, the entire garment will be too tight to fit the…
