Just plug and play

Very easy to use. Plug and play in the truest sense of the word. A test disables the mats and a reset enables them. It even gives you a red light to let you know they're working.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • unreliable

Much better design. quality cord.

LOVE the new design. Replaced a 2 year old Summerstep cable, it was always a hassle to see if it was on or not with my smarthome. The new indicator light and reset buttons are a huge improvement.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • crumpled packaging

Not sure why it can't be a regular plug

This is a plug that will only work with some heater mats - be careful choosing what you need when ordering mats. Our summer carpet specifically needed this plug.

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • Works

Ideal system for icy steps

Good. This is the second winter with the Summerstep system. The cable was purchased separately. The cord fits perfectly and without this system we would not have survived the winter. or we could NOT climb stairs with the Summerstep system on our steps.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Very expensive

Cool product and easy to use

I purchased several Summerstep heater mats for use at home and work in northern Utah. We've only had two small blizzards this winter, but so far so good. They are quite heavy and offer excellent traction on rainy, blustery days. I look forward to using them every winter and saving my back from future snow removal.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

MFR Waste of money

Outside sockets have an RCD fitted and my sockets worked BEFORE the alleged RCD worked in this unit. Based on this experience, I have my doubts as to whether this works at all. However, these mats clearly require some sort of remote control and light sensor with a timer. The only reason they should be excluded is that they can save on the cost of the goods being sold. If I were to do this again I would look for a cheaper compatible power supply.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Doubtful

The cable failed after 3 seasons

This cable didn't last long. I bought it in 2017 and need to replace it before the 2020 season. I contacted Summerstep for customer support through their website with no response. Hopefully the replacement cable I ordered will work so I don't end up with two uselessly expensive pads after 3 seasons. I have had another brand of mat that has lasted many years, the mat is rubber rather than fabric and a workhorse. Unfortunately, I can no longer find this brand and am stuck with an inferior summer…

Pros
  • Cables and connections
Cons
  • Piggy bank price

love the rugs. HATE THE PLUG ADAPTER

Love the floor mats. I HATE the adapter. I will be ordering my THIRD adapter in less than two years. The company sent the second one (thanks to Summerstep) free of charge, since he died a few months later. The current one lasted a little over a year. I only connected 3 large mats, the appropriate amount. Not good. For your information. I had previously bought a staircase from another company and of course after 4 years there were no problems with the connection adapter. Unfortunately I saw and…

Pros
  • Audio & Video Accessories
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled

These power cords DO NOT WORK, so the mats DO NOT WORK.

If I could give zero stars I would, but at least one. Something that doesn't work shouldn't get any stars. I have a second power cord/switch and neither the first nor second purchase stays on to heat the mats. The mats I have match the manufacturer's performance specifications well. The power cords are immediately unplugged instead of being restarted from time to time. I have reduced the number of mats on the track but to no avail. It was nothing short of disappointment and madness. This…
