Rugged and works when you need it

It's reliable, simple and accurate. I had one that ran on battery, but the battery died and was difficult to replace. This always works. It's a little heavy, but it survived the fall unscathed. I like that it keeps readings after use. I needed to check the pressure in my 4Runner's spare tire, which is under the truck. It worked.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Minor issues

0 Durability: Tire & Wheel Tools

Four stars before it broke. After it broke I would give zero stars if I could. Bought October 2020. Today I used it for the first time. I dropped it and the internals that turn the needle just failed. I bought this specifically because I need an air gauge that will work in aggressive off-road environments. That's not it. I would return if he was still eligible for a refund.

Very short lifespan

I used this gauge once when I got it to see if it worked. It looked good and I put it in a small cloth pocket in the door panel. The next time I used it, the end of the nozzle detached from the body itself. It's okay, I thought, I'll just put it back together. I can't because the threads seem to have snapped. The point is, it's useless now. Disappointed😟

Summit Tools Heavy Tire Gauge

At some point I got fed up with poor quality and inaccurate digital pen gauges and decided to get a quality gauge. After doing a little research and reading a few reviews, I decided to purchase a Summit Tools tire gauge. I was pleasantly surprised at the speed of delivery and particularly impressed with the quality and reliability of the sensor. I am very happy with it and hope it will stand the test of time and use.

Pros
  • Easy to Read Control Panel
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide

Sometimes it is difficult to get a seal on the valve stem.

It took me a few tries and two hands to get a good seal. This is a bulky product and may be better suited to a commercial environment. The smaller and simpler the better. It's just disappointing because I check my tire pressure when the weather changes and it's not as easy as I was hoping. Correction: It becomes easier to use after some use. The pressure gauge reset valve is practical. Requires 2 hands to use effectively. It's easy to read and the dial rotates, which helps.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • No power

Easy to use and read

Ergonomics are superior to anything I've used before. This includes digital and regular pencil shapes. The large dial that stores readings is impressive, along with the glow-in-the-dark digits. The specs say it's calibrated so I trust the marketing statement. On first use my tires had 4 different readings plus or minus 6psi. After getting used to this unit I can feel the difference in handling and after a few days the tires are still psi. Feels solid and we will build. I hope it lasts longer…

Pros
  • Loads of positive vibes
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Looks well built and accurate

I have a very old electronic sensor that I keep in the glove box but lately it has been reading a bit high. I also have a couple of old pencil gauges that don't read the same thing. So I ordered this gauge from Summit Tools along with a new inexpensive £150 z. B. Electronic gauge for my truck (wish this gauge was over 60psi). it feels good in my hand. At 40psi, the new digital gauge reads no more than 1psi, so I find both to be fairly accurate. It also allowed me to confirm which pencil gauges…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Unreliable
