This mask has many different uses as stated above for the product listed but I bought it to wear from the heat and humidity when I put on a fur suit . The same appliqués can be used when wearing other garments that fully cover the head and provide adequate breathability when worn. I've also used this as a "bandana" during workouts and while running, if you sweat a lot it needs to be cleaned after each use, but I don't sweat that once or twice before I need to clean it (before it gives a smell)

As other reviewers have noted, this item is very thin and light. I don't think it should be used alone in very cold weather. It works very well as an extra layer under a hat and scarf or even under another heavier balaclava. This item is amazing. It's made out of Lycra so you can roll it up and stuff it all the way into an old 35mm film case, giving it room for easy storage anywhere.
