3 year update: We have used about 12 out of 25 bulbs in 2 salt lanterns in 3 years. Salt lanterns 24 hours a day, only off when changing the lightbulb. As mentioned below, after screwing it back in (turn it off), wipe the bulb with alcohol, a tissue if you have one, or a cotton swab quickly dampened with alcohol. . I bought Sunlite 4C7 and 7C7 clear bulbs and some spray painted paints. This review focuses on clear varieties. I'm a lightbulb collector and an expert on many types of lightbulbs. They are of very high quality. The threads are neatly taut and do not sag even after prolonged use. With many inferior C7 bulbs, the filaments will sag and arc or be susceptible to static electricity and actually catch on the sides of the bulb causing premature failure.
