The product description does not say that any assembly is required. The assembly was very easy. The hardest part was screwing in two very small screws. I dropped them a few times and because they are so small they were hard to find. The stand is solid and has a good weight. The backup reel rack is truly capable of holding mega size reels.

I didn't buy this to use as a toilet roll holder. Bought to crochet. I can easily stow my thread at the bottom of the pole. It works great for what I bought it for. I found it easier to crochet. My thread stays straight. It is very strong and heavy, but still light. It doesn't fall off and is easy to move wherever I choose to do my crafts. Sometimes it pays to think outside the box.

This meets my goal of finding something streamlined and strong to hold large and mega rolls of fabric as it is becoming harder to find standard or even double rolls unless You are opting for a lower quality private label. Our old wall mounts are not suitable for very large rolls. The weighted bottom is a nice feature, it doesn't irritate the eyes and doesn't take up much floor space. I wish the extra buns he keeps were under a stainless steel cover instead of lying openly. But it is okay.
