I can't recommend it. No longer 100% mineral. Shiny, oily. Pooh!

I have been using Makep:rem sunscreen for many years and love it. The last time I bought it, I noticed that the bottle had gotten smaller. The price was lower so no big deal. I didn't use it right away as I was waiting for my old bottle to run out. I was very surprised when I finally started using the new bottle and encountered all sorts of problems with oily, shiny skin. I came back here to look at the product information and saw that the formula had been changed to include both physical and…

Contains bergamot fruit oil. Poor

I heard about this product from Angie (HotandFlashy Youtuber). I liked the light consistency and started using it daily for about 3 weeks. After a few days I developed sensitive skin (skin itchy around chin and cheekbones, sensitive etc.). Then, about 2 weeks later, I noticed that my skin in the cheek area was getting dark spots. I always thought it was my Curology cream that I used. But I used it for about 3 weeks before I started using this sunscreen with no problems so I kept telling myself…

Pros
  • Well made
Cons
  • Very expensive

Soft, matte and strong!

My 3rd bottle of this stuff. I didn't know until my second bottle was also suitable for children. I love how gentle it is on my baby's and mine's skin, how quickly it dries and sets and how well it protects our skin, especially compared to the physical sunscreens available in America.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Damaged

I'm glad the formula was changed

A lot of people aren't happy with the composition and size change and I understand that if you're sensitive to chemical sunscreens, you're going to be upset . . However, there's a reason it's been reformulated, and in the recent sunscreen testing scandals in Korea, this sunscreen was about 1 in 5 to pass with flying colors. It also doesn't contain any particular ingredient that would actually make the skin more sensitive and could lead to dark sun spots. So if you can handle chemical…

Returns - Contains Dark Spots ingredient

At first I really liked the feel and coverage of this product. However, when I found out that one of the ingredients in the product (essential oil is bergamot), I immediately went back. I have sensitive skin and didn't want to risk switching Bergamot because I got dark spots on my face or body.

Unfortunately Sun Ray Fluid will no longer be available as of June 2021. Instead, a different formulation made this sunscreen a physico-chemical combination. Zinc oxide has been replaced with a chemical sunscreen. The size has also changed from 200ml to 150ml. I wish MakeP:rem would introduce a second sunscreen and not replace a great product. I can no longer recommend this product. Sigh. First Review: NEW FORMULA: Same great SPF protection but without Bergamot Essential Oils! I used this…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

No burning after 116 degrees and 4 hours in the pool!

I try to take very good care of my 32 year old fair/fair skin and I was worried about changing the formula because I liked the old formula. But I have to say that the stuff is great. We're having a major heat wave in the Pacific Northwest right now. It's 116 degrees today and I've worn this for hours in the pool and NO SUNBURN! I don't even have tan lines! I will note that it is not marketed as waterproof and I was apprehensive about using it in the water but I found it protected me and my…

The holy grail of my gold standard!

Love love love this material! It's thin enough to be very easy to apply and initially it looks a bit shiny and oily with a slight white tinge mainly around the edges of the application area, but after about 10 minutes it absorbs into my skin and becomes almost like a Super matte a primer. It stays that way all day. I haven't had any problems with sunspots or tanning/burning since I started using it. I have normal skin with a very slightly oily T-zone and occasional dry patches. Sun Liquid does…
