No strong medicinal taste. I bought it from a store while on vacation in Japan as I ran out of the travel size I brought from home. I had fun trying Japanese food so there is plenty to choose from. The GUM brand is known all over the world, so I went for it. Liked the soothing taste. We also tried the mouthwash and found it very different from American brands. All parts of a fun journey. When I returned. I ordered 3 GUM toothpaste from Revain. I might buy a supply on my next trip.
