DO NOT fully charge this power adapter.

I use this adapter to power my radio. battery array and such. I have a storm and the power is out for half a day. When power was restored this power supply was drawing 50 amps while charging batteries etc. It seemed to work. an hour later I smelled burning electronics. But it still worked. Delivery stopped after 2 days. I opened it up and found that the INPUT surge suppressors (thermistors) are a white powder. They connected 2 thermistors in parallel (no spacing) for current BUT they didn't…

Pros
  • Suitable for many
Cons
  • Reliability

Fan noise and hum all over my gear

Fan is very loud I use these power supplies for my ham radio gear. The people I spoke to on the radio hear the fan running in the background maybe can't use this other brand and now to add to my review it has started making a buzzing noise all over my radio gear. Stop can no longer be used, must be replaced

  • Good workmanship

Add some big heatsinks and you're close to rated power

This is so cheap. I disassembled the block for quality control. I found some nearly shorted wires, flux and a few solder joints. If the transistor mounts are bent or the screws are loose, this power supply will quickly overheat under load. I screwed the extra heatsinks to the back and left side. I used some rectangular pieces to attach the PSU to the base, they raise the unit from the base by about 15mm which greatly improves cooling. Without a heatsink, the power supply would not be able to…

Incredibly powerful little power supply

This very compact 50 amp power supply is very stable. I put a 32 amp load on it so my 35 amp power supply had a hard time keeping it cool and stable. The power pack is stable at 13.8 volts, I plugged in the power pack. It is adjustable from 9.5 volts to 15 volts with a potentiometer on the corner. It's not a power supply that you set to different voltages for different items. You simply set the voltage required for certain elements and leave it at that voltage. I set mine to 13.8 for lights…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled

Reliable interior

I have ordered several of these components to power my vintage emergency lighting collection. All were reliable and worked well. The size is quite compact so it works in small spaces. Virtually silent in operation. There's an automatic shutdown if the device thinks it's overloaded, which is sometimes buggy, but doesn't always work when it's not needed. I added switches to my 12+ volt wires so I can turn them on after connecting the power supply. The only issue is that I wish there was an on/off

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Protection

I took the bad with the good

The first power supply arrived bent and something was dangling inside so I sent it in for a replacement. Then I noticed the warranty seal was broken (probably due to drop shifting) so I took it apart to see what was dangling there. It was one of two large input filter capacitors that fell out during soldering - see pic. The photos in the seller's description show that there is some glue underneath these capacitors that might hold this capacitor in place. I checked the solder joints and while it
