Soft butter is here!

I bought this after my husband complained about the switch from Country Cr*ck (that's margarine and a molecule of plastic removed!) to grass-fed butter. Butter will solidify when stored in the fridge. The sweet porcelain butter dome is very pretty, arrived quickly, is dishwasher safe and the perfect answer to hard butter! but it's like a brick

In Australia our butter could always be painted. Straight out of the fridge, the Australian butter softened and succumbed to the bread. But American butter? I don't know what this stuff is made of, but it's like a brick, it takes forever to soften and by then my toast will be cold. A jug of oil saves the day. Butter'd Up: Dishes & Serving

I'm not sure what to do with the water other than to chill butter in warm conditions. Since I live in the Pacific Northwest rainforest, that's not a problem. I tried water but didn't like the wet oil and the little drips dripping from the jug threatening the food so I'll toss caution and moisture to the wind and throw that part away.
