Great quality good memories

Bought this for my granddaughter for Christmas as her mum had a lot of VHS tapes when she was little. It worked great and they loved it!

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Tape

This is the largest compact DVD/VCR combo

This is the largest compact DVD/VCR combo. I bought this Sylvania DVD/VCR set almost 12 years ago and it still performs like a champ and plays everything I need. I like that VHS tapes don't matter when you have this player. I can show my godchildren all my old films when they come. Most of these films they have never seen before because they are older.

Pros
  • 181-channel PLL automatic frequency tuning
Cons
  • Price that beats the piggy bank

Inexpensive, works well

Bought to fit my aging VCR and DVD player to replace in the living room. Simple and convenient buttons on the front of the device. The remote isn't very user friendly, but my master remote is programmed in such a way that I don't really need it. It copes with its task, plays discs without problems. Lots of connectivity, S-Video, component video, coaxial - compatible with almost anything you own. I'm guessing it will last 2-3 years and then I need a reason to upgrade again - at 69.99 plus free…

Pros
  • Plays DVD-Video, DVD+ or -R/RW, Audio CD, CD-RW, CD-R and MP-3 CD files
Cons
  • Expensive

Works as advertised

I wanted a DVD/VCR combo player. This object also happens to be a VCR, and that's fine. The instructions are in small print and arranged page by page like Talmudic commentaries: read the box here, turn the page 90 degrees, read the other box, turn the page again, etc. They are almost illegible. So if you've never owned one of these and can't figure out how to work with it intuitively, don't expect much from it. It's a bit taller than the average drawer, so measure the space you plan to put it…

Pros
  • Digital and analog audio output
Cons
  • Unfashionable
