The device breaks down regularly. it does not begin.

The device keeps crashing. won't turn on, won't allow you to remove the hard drive or vhs. It is necessary to press the reset button many times and press the power button at the right time to make the device work normally again. frustrating that I spent over $300 on a faulty machine.

Pros
  • Good product for the price

Great product easy to use

Hi I have had this DVD burner for over 2 years now and I absolutely love it. I had a repair, but you can't say for sure. I recorded a large number of DVDs. I have converted tons of VHS movies to DVD and it has never let me down. I used to have a Sony recorder, but after a while I threw it away because of the large number of "stands". I would give this DVD burner 5 stars if it weren't for the rare instances where a DVD product has "tracking" issues that aren't present in the VHS format. Please…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Simply good.: TV and video

I had to scan the channels about 10 times before it registered the channels. I suspect the tuner is going out? There were a few instances where I couldn't get a picture with the channel selected and I had to turn off or unplug the device a few times to restore my channels. The submenu function doesn't work at all, so I can't select channels to add to favorites, which also means the favorites button doesn't work. Despite these problems, the recorder records most of the time. In general, I just…

Bargain good for DVD-VCR kits

The DVD/VCR recorder has stood the test of time. With its many features, it offers many useful elements to get great shots. I still have a lot to learn, which will only add to its value. He did everything he promised and what I needed and more. The price of a Panasonic DVD-VCR recorder (refurbished with warranty) was really good value. . I paid 1/2 what I would pay in a retail store for the same item. Integration with my Panasonic TV was easy and very effective. Outstanding image quality. Easy…

It's great!: DVD VCR Combos

I bought this because my last VCR gave up the ghost after just a year. I think they used to cost more. I paid 147.00 with shipping. It records EXCELLENT, even as part of a VCR. .With the +rw drive, just erase it after watching, it takes about 15 seconds, then it's ready to use again. You can also record from DVD to cassette or from tape to DVD. It has a tuner but I record straight from my box. I really don't see any flaws in all of this. The remote even has big buttons that you can see. Even a…

The best I've ever had. Best in DVD VCR Combos

I decided to purchase this item based on the reviews I received. I was not disappointed. I've been working on all the features related to what I wanted it for. I'm fed up with the cheaper ones I've used for the last seven or eight years that need to be replaced right out of warranty. This model also fulfills everything that is required of it. The instructions are large and easy to read. I'm no electronics genius, but by following the letter-for-letter instructions I was able to burn (VHS) DVDs…

Pros
  • Consistent Test Results
Cons
  • No Instructions

Best of the top three in TV & Video

This is my third DVD recorder but my first Panasonic brand. At the time of this review, Panasonic's performance is far superior to the previous two brands I've owned. The dynamics are very different from the previous two brands, which will prompt you to seek help from Panasonic Tech Services. The manual requires a lot of study, but the results are worth the effort. The manuals page and font size is larger than most manuals, which is very valuable if you are over 80 years old. Technical writers…

does the job perfectly

This unit was designed to do exactly what I needed to do - transfer my collection of VHS tapes to DVD. I have one of their previous models from about four years ago which is also amazing. They have made many improvements to this new model. Firstly, unlike the old 100X, you can search with 200X. And all the commands are very reasonable and intuitive. There are only two things that keep me from giving it a full five stars: First, it's pretty loud. Also (and this may sound silly), the old machine…

Pros

Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Seems to be working fine.

We chose this brand because it had a digital tuner. We don't have a cable and would have to buy a converter anyway. It is a very complex mechanism compared to a VCR and like a computer, it can sometimes take a while to process various commands and sometimes it needs to be restarted. The guide covers the basics, but there are many ways to go wrong and they don't give you on-screen messages to figure out why something isn't working the way you want it to. Also, the terminology on the remote…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
