Just take a sufficiently long USB cable. Extension cords don't fit, especially these.

I've had terrible luck with these cables. I tried using it with my dad's external DVD drive but the drive wouldn't even read the disc or show it in Windows. Always connected and instantly disconnected. So I plugged the DVD drive directly into the same USB port on my dad's computer and the drive worked fine. I used this cable for an external hard drive. Make sure the connection is tight and clean. Well it kept shutting down and corrupted files while writing to the drive, forcing me to reformatโ€ฆ

TOP for the price

SUPER for the price! I bought this product with MY OWN money and thought this cable needed some love on its own. I'm a big Anker fan, but not a fan of the price. Well I will tell you this cable feels thick and durable and the connectors fit well. For $6 you can't complain here. I bought a cheaper Revain Basics cable, it lasted a week and broke. This cable is now a month old and I wish I had bought it sooner. I love ALL Syncwire products and with their lifetime warranty you can't go wrong. I'veโ€ฆ

This is a high quality outfit!

As soon as I opened the packaging, I could tell that the guys at Syncwire really got it. Here's the thing - the cable was SVITAN. Not kinked, not twisted on itself, not kinked and twisted to prevent a single cable from recovering, but wound into an even coil. Second, the connectors have been covered with protective plastic grommets. very nice touch. That tells me that Syncwire really cares about delivering their product in top-notch condition. Third, the box it comes in is sealed and the sealโ€ฆ
