Appropriate for a branded drive, they work really cool

Only branded drives like this are compatible with the new larger rackmount Synology NAS. They make a low-frequency rumble, which is actually quite good. performance seems good. The documentation suggests that the drive's firmware is updated via the NAS. You can get more storage space for less money by using smaller competitive brand NAS devices. They work very well, typically 26-29c versus 33-38 for WD and Seagate drives in other NAS units in the same room.

Pros
  • Holding my fists
Cons
  • Protection

Genuine Synology Products. Sealed and new

As described. New, sealed, in perfect condition. What can you say about the packaging. Incorrect packaging for such an expensive product. The oversized box contained an airbag, but two fragile items were placed on top of the bag and were unprotected. Being a RAM and SDD module does not mean a defective product, but one does not expect such packaging either. But I will buy it again, fast delivery and good price.

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Purchased with Synology NAS for durability

Drives passed all tests. They're quiet and faster than the HGST drives in my old Synology NAS. I bought Synology drives (made by Toshiba) because they were rated "corporate" with a very high MTBF (MTBF of 2.5 million hours) and a 5-year warranty. Time will tell, but so far I'm happy.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Frequency

Great hard drive for NAS

These drives are great for Synology NAS. I do not recommend them for other purposes. I bought these when Revain sold them for $480. Revain is now selling them for $650. I'm not sure why they decided to increase the price by 35%.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Crumpled

Slow transfer speed, incompatibility

I am using Synology 1817+ NAS (16GB RAM, 10Gbe NIC). My computer has an i9 processor and 2.5 Gbe Ethernet Lan, Cruical NVMe P2 SSD. They are directly (category 7) connected to each other. First, the Synology hard drive is not compatible with my Synology NAS DS 1817+. Synology Customer Service accepted this situation. Second, the transfer rate is very low. Average speed 115 MB/sn, longevity unknown

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
