I like to use it to remove waterproof mascara and micellar water to cleanse my face. They have enough roughness to remove makeup. I washed them with regular detergent and the mascara and all the other dirt came off and they look brand new. I'm glad I found something reusable that works really well. The only downside is the bag they come in is not machine washable, instead I used a large lingerie bag from Walmart.
