Great Lighters ๐Ÿ”ฅ

It's a nice size and weight, it's easy to light and gives a good spark. I made some simple changes by adding a wooden handle. I drilled 1/2 inch all the way through and glued it in place. On the second I just added some paracord. But they work great on their own.

GREAT, not the best quality but great for the price.

Very satisfied, especially for this price. The bars are big, well, very big. You seem strong. They are a bit heavy. I think they will last a very long time. They don't throw a lot of sparks, but they have to get the job done. For $10. One rod would be plenty, but for two it would be a steal. Delivery came on time.

  • Lots of positive emotions

Reliable and easy to use

These things are very durable and spark like a mini flamethrower. The problem I have with most of these products is that they are flimsy, brittle and usually break or chip when you try to use them. This is not the case with these rods, they are thick and strong. And it's half the price of most smaller single action rods available here and you get two to boot! That's definitely a win.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Almost never

Best price I've found for 1/2 " x 5 " Ferrocerium Rods

Produces a large stream of excellent quality sparks. Don't use a small scraper unless you don't mind browning your fingertips (lesson learned today). You're not paying for a name and fancy packaging. I've searched sites in Canada and the US and this is the best deal for the price for this size. Should have ordered more, arrived a little earlier. I'm a happy wanderer except for my burned finger.

Excellent ferro alloys at a great price

I bought two sets of these bars, four bars in total and they are excellent quality. They have a good medium hardness and the perfect balance for throwing lots of sparks without being too soft to last. I even cut one in half, glued it to a small portion of the horn, and kept it in my bag as part of my EDC gear. As of now (May 2019) they are listed as "currently unavailable". Westlake, give it back! They are the ferro rods Revain needs, not the ferro rods Revain deserves.

Pros
  • Sample for a year
Cons
  • weak

High quality. I always check them with the blunt side of a blunt knife. I even got some sparks on the first try (because the oil and film is still there). Once I gave them a quality edge, they looked like fireworks. Heavy and thick. I'm tempted to cut them into extra pieces but won't as they are comfortable and easy to shoot on thick wood, cotton, shavings and curly trimmings. Buy a few and put them in your vehicles and bug bags.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Very expensive

The last you will probably ever buy!

This ferrocerium stick is great; it's big enough to last almost forever and fits nicely in my EDC bag. It's long enough that you can strike from either end, minimizing the amount of waste that inevitably comes with built-in handles. This is a great piece to carry every day or in a car kit in case you get stuck and don't have cell service to call for help. Or in case you need to make a fire somewhere and nobody brought matches or lighter!

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Goodbye! NO useless plagiarism.

Remember that this is a very strong material. When you drill a hole for the lanyard, place it in a vise to keep the drill bit from hanging down. And expect LOTS of long-lasting SPARKS! Remove ALL FLAMMABLE MATERIALS within at least 3 feet of your work area. I used tungsten carbide bits so the extreme heat and pressure wouldn't ruin even the titanium coated bits. Carbide/Masonry Drills are very cheap here at Revain. I drilled mine outdoors at night and the light show was amazing. And bevel theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Weight

REALLY sparks

Received it Thursday and tried it out in the garage on Saturday. I took the BACK of the retractable utility knife. I was pleasantly surprised at how much glitter is ejected. Many sparks fell on the ground and continue to spark (burn). I'm used to those little magnesium blocks with little sparks on the side. Big difference. With this I will light a fire in the north on my next trip. The only downside is that it would be nice to have a little handle on the end. I'm going to make one out of aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Minor issues
