Do not buy! fits throttle position

CHARACTER survived in the aftermarket for only six months before failing completely. Began having trouble shifting up. TPS code out of range. Replaced it with an OEM Chrysler made in Mexico. Returned to normal upshift and drive engagement.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Hard to tell

correct application.

Will not fit my 1997 Dodge Dakota Sport Pickup. He apparently has a v8 unit for 4 six. The connector is rotated 180 degrees. Headlong from the factory block. It installs, but the motor jumps and the speed fluctuates. Doesn't work on my 502.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Speed

Idle Problems: Sensors

Installed on a 1998 Jeep Cherokee 4.0. The sensor worked for a couple of months (only a few hundred km), then problems with idling began. Replaced by Mopar TPS, now the idle problems are gone. Rather spend a little more or run to the landfill for the original sensor.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Protection

Sensor failed immediately

I installed this on a 1999 Wrangler Sport. Throttle position sensor code read too high and out of range. This sensor was bad from the start. He read the same code. High Voltage TPS. I installed a jeep brand throttle position sensor which fixed the problem immediately. Please do not buy this product and save yourself the headache.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • When in doubt

Inexpensive, but as a spare part.

This is a cheap sensor and it works like a cheap sensor! That got me out of my predicament, but after a month I had to buy a new one from Autozone. If you get this make sure you use an old o-ring from the original or it will cause all sorts of problems with very little vacuum leakage through the throttle shaft. It's a good sensor to keep as a spare, but if you want to fix it properly, spend a few bucks more.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Non-Automatic

Your jeep will perform even worse than before

If you are considering this part you probably have the same budget as me but whatever you do don't buy this part it is better To take the money and give it to a roadside homeless person or anyone, just throw it out the window because your car will still perform just as well or worse. Save extra money on OEM parts, it will save you money, frustration and time in the long run.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • I don't remember
