🛄 GIVI TAN01 2.5L Outback Container Review

I bought this to use on my motorcycle as extra fuel. There are special holders in which to place them and they do it very nicely.

I initially rejected this container because of the specified minimum size of 4.9 inches. At that size it wouldn't fit in my saddlebag. It actually measures 4 inches and fits well. 4 stars as I just checked them for fit and have no usage history.

later Terrible design. . There is no cap on the drain spout, so if you plan on using it for fuel it's pretty much useless. You can put a regular lid on it, but there's no place to attach or attach the spout to the jar itself. Good luck keeping them together.

Perfect size for motorcycle emergency fuelling. I received this for a 6 day 800 mile dual sport ride in remote Virginia/West Virginia and it worked as it should: no leaks and easy to use. I deducted a star because the funnel contained some plastic shavings the first time I used it (luckily the funnel got caught on it. The mold quality is poor, the nozzle design does not allow you to put the nozzle in a sealed can, so you always have to tinker with the nozzle separately. Worst of all though, the jar arrived full of plastic bits and shards left over either from the mold or some sort of finishing process at the factory. If I had only filled one can, I would have dumped a bunch of plastic into the diesel filter housing. MAKE SURE you shake the can and tap the bottom to loosen the large plastic pieces. However…

This gas bottle lets steam escape. I'm pretty sure it's meant to be placed on the outside of the car. The dimensions allow me to easily transport it in my BMW rear bag. But unfortunately everything smells of petrol in the end. I'm pretty sure it's meant to be installed on the outside of the car because I saw an external mounting kit for that. But I liked his ability to ride a motorcycle so much that I tried it out in my back bag. It saved my bacon on my last long trip because I ran out of gas…
