It took me a second to figure out how hard I had to hit the copper and brass rivet tool to set the washer, but after the first rivet I figured it out. This is a high quality and easy to use tool.

Burrs for rivets can be installed with pliers. The domed part of the tool has rough cut marks that will transfer to your rivet. Either buy a better tool or learn how to use other methods to install a rivet (I suggest a better tool).

This is a very strong and well built tool. It's a good weight which makes installing the shim much easier than using a lighter punch. I have found that lightly sanding the rivet shank with fine sandpaper improves this process. At the same time, this tool sets rivets quickly and easily.

I bought this tool to set tandy rivets which I also bought. The first rivet went well. The second got stuck so badly that I almost had to destroy the project I was working on to free the post from the tool. I inserted a slightly larger drill bit into the hole, after which this function worked perfectly. The convex side of this tool is poorly finished. If it doesn't matter to leave marks on the rivet, go for it. For a little more money you definitely get a better tool.

So far I've set about 30 copper rivets with it. The initial burr hole works fine, but once you trim the rivet, the poor milling of this tool leaves marks on the rivet when you try to round it off. Now the initial diameter of the rivet begins to form a ring which makes the finished product look worse. I also noticed that the impact area starts to grow like a mushroom. As another reviewer said, this tool is too soft. Bottom line: I'm sure the rivets will hold, but I'm too embarrassed to use them…
